A full understanding of fossil organisms can’t be
accomplished without being familiar with modern, living organisms. The
study of living organisms is neontology (not biology).
Biology is the study of all life forms (modern & ancient). Neontologists
study modern organisms. Paleontologists study ancient organisms.
